Beer and Rap!

Saturday night at the Amersham Arms saw the 3rd Birthday of Beer and Rap and, as far as I know, the first night by the crew at The Amersham in New Cross. The venue was packed out by 11 ish and the show started with Northern Man Mountain Stig of the Dump dropping clever battle rhymes and hyping the crowd. The resident Beer and Rap DJs then played some new and old classics and had the crowd moving.

Stig, host for the evening hyped the crowd and brought Jid Sames to the stage. Jid is clearly a crazy bastard and was heavy if only cause he bewildered so many people while nearly getting bottled four or five times. All kinds of crazy production and insane performance.

Next up was Big in Frankfurt, which was two guys in shell suits pretending to be German, singing over power ballads, it was hilarious and got the Amersham crowd loud lairy and ready to go for the main event of the night: UK Legends Task Force.

Now as soon as Chester P stepped to the stageto deliver a freestyle that rocked the whole place it was destined to be a good show, banging beats, clever rhymes and engineer who was surprisingly on his Ps. This was a wicked wicked night, and Chester said it best when he said Hip Hop has the most in common with punk, everyone was getting down and the music really meant something. The party was wicked. The after party was boom.

I want more beer and rap!
